What it is

Stellar (XLM) was created by Jed McCaleb after he left Ripple. The Stellar Development Foundation is a nonprofit. The network is built for issuing assets and moving them cheaply — remittances, local-currency tokens, and aid — more than for speculation.

How it compares to XRP

Both are fast payment ledgers with no mining. XRPL grew up around institutional liquidity and on-demand liquidity. Stellar grew up around financial inclusion and anchored assets. They are cousins, not clones. On the show we cover both because the rails rhyme, and the differences matter.
